Our Farm Cottages have been a part of Oakhurst for the past 40 years.
Kween’s Kaya, Awies Attic, Leenies Lair, Hans’s Hollow and Nick’s Nook are set along the edge of a section of forest, intersected with a gurgling stream that flows during the rainy periods. The cottages are about 15m apart, separated by hedges and have a large lawned area in front of them. They’re all a stone’s throw from the action, with the forest walking trail, large swing, kids playground and communal braai area being right there.
Each cottage is fully set up for self-catering, with a well equipped kitchen and cozy living area with wooden floors. The living area in turn opens out onto a large wooden deck and braai area. This is the spot where you can either enjoy a good meal around the large wooden table or simply enjoy some of Oakhurst’s fine mountain air while getting stuck into a good book. For those who’re after a wood-fired hot tub, Leenies Lair, Hans’s Hollow and Nick’s Nook, have permanent tubs installed on their decks.
Each cottage has three bedrooms (One double and two twins) and sleeps up to 6 people. The double bedroom is self contained, while the two twin bedrooms are interleading, the second twin can only be accessed via the first twin bedroom. Each cottage has a central bathroom with shower. Garden Route winters can be cold, and a fire roaring in the kitchen’s wood-burning stove sets the perfect atmosphere for farm winters.
